In one of my last pre-Covid travels, I went to Canada BC to visit my family.
During an afternoon stroll, around the corner from my aunt’s house, I found this villa on the top of a hill, whereupon two trees seemed to have dropped the curtain. The house seemed to be looking back at me like a scared octopus would stare at an intruding human from under a rock. I took a picture of it.
At 2,5 years distance from that day, on a sunny afternoon on the other side of the globe, I thought of it and painted it.

For my paintings I use only light-fast pastels, which means that the colours are guaranteed to maintain their vibrance in time.
